House of Voltaire 2012, London W1

Temporary shop for Studio Voltaire at Jonathan Viner Gallery, 17a Adam's Row, London W1 21st November to 15th December 2012

Following the huge success of the first House of Voltaire in 2010, Studio Voltaire took over a gallery space in Mayfair to host a second run in 2012. Working again in collaboration with 6a Architects, we designed & built a series of installations to display the range of framed prints, objects & clothing for sale.

The gallery occupied the ground & basement floors of a mews building which still contained some of the original tiling & timber wall panelling. We developed framed shelves which hung off the existing picture rail to allow work to be displayed on those walls without the need for fixings. Shelving on the end wall was a development of those made for the Allied Editions exhibition stand & painted table tops on Wooden trestle two were used. The existing sales counter from the original House of Voltaire was adapted to suit the new space.

We also made a bespoke cabinet, clothes rail & small seating area in the basement.
